Avery is one of those women who captivates you at first meeting, and stays with you in memory the rest of your life. I wish she had told me when we had lunch in Bethesda two years ago that it would be our last meeting.

A native of Jacksonville, Florida, Senior Chief Henderson was the fifth in his line to bear that name. He joined the Navy to see the World and during his active service had a proud record in three conflicts.

Born in February,1928, to Mr. and Mrs. Otis Wheeler of North Harmony Street in Medina, Jinny was proud of her heritage in the Buckeye State. Her ancestors included soldiers in the Revolutionary War, and later were some of the original pioneers of the Ohio Territory, the first arriving in 1816.

15 March 2016. CAPT William B. Bader, USNR-Ret, at Sykesville, MD. He had Alzheimer’s disease. He was born Sept. 8, 1931, in Atlantic City, where his grandfather had been mayor in the 1920s.

On 09 November, 2015, CDR William C. “Bill” Johnson, Jr., USNR-Ret., 85, of Daytona Beach passed peacefully at home surrounded by family. He had been a NIP member since 1994.

Born on February 24, 1946 to Lawrence and Yvonne Silvey in Amarillo, TX. After graduating from West Texas State University in 1968, he was commissioned an Ensign in the U.S. Navy. Larry retired from the U.S. Navy as a Captain in the Intelligence Community after a career of 24 years.
