TAPS: LCDR (Ret) Haski Beher Passes Away Suddenly at Age 59

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Haski Beher on 15 August 2023. A dedicated individual with an unwavering commitment to service and family, Haski left an indelible mark on those who had the privilege of knowing him. He was 59 years old.

Haski's professional journey was a testament to his dedication to his country. He served as a System Engineer for prominent San Diego-based contractors SAIC and Engility, providing invaluable support to the Naval Information Warfare Systems Command. His expertise and tireless efforts contributed significantly to the advancement of naval information systems.

Within the military, Haski's roles were equally impactful. From his early years as an enlisted Marine to his later appointments as a Naval officer, including assistant officer in charge of COMPACFLT DET Intelligence Readiness Cell, ship's intelligence officer aboard USS Boxer (LHD-4), and officer in charge of Navy Intelligence Reserve Region-Southwest, Haski's contributions resonated across the ranks.

Education played a vital role in shaping Haski's career. He earned an undergraduate degree from Hawaii Pacific University and pursued further academic excellence, attaining master’s degrees from the University of Maryland, National University, and the U.S. Naval War College. This dedication to continuous learning mirrored his commitment to personal growth and excellence in his field.

Haski's involvement extended beyond his professional sphere. He devoted time to The Boy Scouts of America, holding positions that included unit commissioner, advancement leader, and den leader. His influence extended beyond his immediate responsibilities, impacting the lives of young scouts under his guidance.

Family was paramount in Haski's life. He leaves behind a loving wife, Martha, and a proud legacy in his children: Chaskiel, Noel, Jeremiah, Jacquelyn and Nathaniel. Haski's dedication to his faith, his role as a father, and his commitment to being a friend to all highlighted the depth of his character.
