TAPS: Retired Commander Mike Brennan Passes Away at Age 84

Mike BrennanCDR Michael J. Brennan, age 84, passed away at his home in Annandale, Virginia on June 24. He is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Patricia Brogneaux Brennan, five children, and nine grandchildren.

Mike graduated from Indiana University in 1962. He was commissioned as a Surface Warfare Officer via OCS and subsequently changed designator to Special Duty, Intelligence Officer (1630). His first intelligence assignment was as Assistant U.S. Naval Attache, Ankara, Turkey. Subsequent tours included XO of NISO Seattle, COMNAVINTCOM staff, Carrier Strike Force SEVENTHFLEET, DIA, NIS Headquarters, and Center for Naval Analyses. He retired in 1987 and undertook a second career as an Adjunct Professor at George Mason University.

Mike’s funeral will be held at 1100, July 15th, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Annandale, Virginia, with burial in Arlington National Cemetery at a future date.
