Tournament raises over $5,000 for charitable causes.

In conjunction with the C3F/ONI Waterfront Conference taking place in San Diego, NIP Chapter San Diego hosted a social event at Harbor Town Pub. Longtime NIP San Diego committee member, Stan Kowalsky, presented a NIP San Diego chapter coin to CAPT Ed McLellan during the event. (June 2024)

San Diego announced in March 2024 that Curatorial and Admin volunteer, Phil Eakin was been selected by the Health and Human Services Department - Aging and Independent Services Program as one of the 2024 County Volunteers of the Year for his exceptional contributions to the USS Midway Museum.

The NIP social in San Diego that was held in conjunction with the 2024 AFCEA West Conference drew a huge crowd and was a great success.

On 25 August 2023, NIP’s San Diego chapter held its 17th annual charity golf tournament at the Admiral Baker Golf Course, raising over $4,000 and bringing over 80 golfers together for some fun and a good cause.

NIP San Diego welcomed Rear Admiral Tom Henderschedt, the IndoPACOM J2, to San Diego by hosting a social on 31 May at the iconic Tom Ham’s Lighthouse.

The San Diego NIP chapter welcomed numerous distinguished visitors who were in San Diego for AFCEA West in February. We gathered for a social at McGregor’s Ale House on 14 February.

NIP San Diego hosted a couple of socials before the holidays. In December, we welcomed the Rear Admiral (ret) Paul Becker, Captain (ret) Greg Husmann, and Captain (ret) Chris Sharman to San Diego. It was a fun evening filled with holiday cheer, camaraderie, and time for catching up with old friends. In November, we gave a warm welcome to the Commander, Naval Information Forces, Vice Admiral Kelly Aeschbach, during her waterfront visit. 

NIP Chapter San Diego held its 16th Annual Charity Golf tournament on 25 August 2022 under balmy (if not oppressive) 80-degree weather at the Admiral Baker South course. Over 60 players enjoyed the day, with a good showing of active duty as well as our stalwart retirees.
