Members of the NIP Rocky Mtn/Mtn West Chapter met up at RADM (Ret) Brett Heimbigner’s home in Colorado on 23 March to tell stories, talk the present, and plan for the future. Discussions ran the gamut from contemporaneous accounts of holding station off Haiphong, “working” with the Iranians (pre and post Revolution), Soviet sub stories, being in early to Afghanistan, detailers, JO’s in the ready room and…raising goats. The chapter is planning for future events like taking the show on the road to embrace other landlocked sailors in the Denver area to bring them into the fold and a provide a sequel to this tag-up to let the NIP flag fly in the Rockies.
