Two New Members Selected for NIP Board to Represent Marines

On 17 May 2024, the NIP Board unanimously approved the nominations forColonel Aaron Tooke, USMCR and Master Gunnery Sergeant (Ret) Scott Stalker to join the Board, representing our U.S. Marine intelligence professionals. As Vice Admiral (Ret) Bob Sharp noted in his announcement of the news, their addition to the board helps “make the Naval Intelligence Professionals truly Naval.”

Aaron Tooke is the Deputy Commandant for Information–Intelligence Division’s Intelligence Mission Manager. As the USMC Intelligence Mission Manager, he advises the DCI, the DIRINT, and the Marine Corps Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Enterprise (MCISRE) on all aspects of strategic, operational, and tactical intelligence, including current and future programs. Aaron has served in the Intelligence Community for 25 years and has managed and led at the division and office levels in the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency influencing overhead collections, cross-community coordination and integration, and most recently GEOINT foundation productions by providing operational advantage to the USN submarine forces. 

Aaron is also a colonel in the Marine Corps Reserves where he currently serves as the Reserve Assistant Chief of Staff, G2 to the Commanding General Marine Forces Pacific, Camp Smith, Hawaii. He augments MARFORPAC, extends the G2’s reach, and adds leadership and diversity to the Commanding General’s Senior Staff. He bridges national level intelligence capabilities to Marine Corps warfighting needs and he connects Headquarters Marine Corps to INDOPACOM through his strong working relationships across the MARFORPAC Staff. 

Aaron joined the Marine Corps in 1994 and transitioned to the Reserves in 2004. He is an Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) veteran where he served as the senior intelligence watch officer with 2nd Intelligence Battalion, leading the MEF’s Tactical Fusion Center in Camp Blue Diamond, Ramadi, Iraq. He has applied his Intelligence Community and Marine Corps experience by serving in support of the Office Undersecretary Defense Intelligence (OUSDI) as the National Geospatial-Intelligence Liaison Officer to the Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance Task Force (ISR-TF).

Aaron earned his undergraduate in business administration at the University of Texas and his master’s degree in business administration at Johns Hopkins University. He has completed Marine Corps Command & Staff School and the U.S Air Force Air War College. Aaron is married and has two children.

Scott Stalker dedicated 31 years to active duty as a Marine and distinguished career information warfare professional, retiring as a master gunnery sergeant. Throughout his service, he held key positions including Intelligence Chief for 1st Battalion, 7th Marines, and 7th Marine Regiment. He also served as the Intelligence Chief for Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command and Marine Corps Forces Cyberspace Command.

Scott was notably the first Senior Enlisted Advisor for the Joint Staff J-2. He further served as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader for the Defense Intelligence Agency, United States Cyber Command, National Security Agency, and United States Space Command.

Scott holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in intelligence studies and Master of Science degree in cyber security. Currently, he is the owner of S2-Stalker Solutions, a service-disabled veteran-owned small business providing professional services. Additionally, he serves as a senior fellow for the National Defense University.
