Rear Admiral Mike Vernazza Nominated to be Commander, Naval Information Forces

The Secretary of Defense announced that President Biden has nominated Rear Admiral Mike Vernazza to be promoted to Vice Admiral and assigned as the next Commander, Naval Information Forces. If confirmed, he will succeed Vice Admiral Kelly Aeschbach when she retires in July this year. "He is an exceptional leader with the right vision and experience to lead Information Warfare,” said Aeschbach, who has served as the “I Boss” since 2021. Vernazza is currently the Commander, Fleet Information Warfare Command Pacific.
