VADM (Ret) Bob Sharp Assumes Leadership of NIP

VADM Bob Sharp assumed the role of NIP Chair, taking over this month from Lynn Wright. As Ms. Wright acknowledged in her farewell message to NIP, “I was always the short-term solution to allow Bob to take a knee after his retirement before taking on this new role.” She will remain as the lead for the Naval Intelligence History Project 2032.

Bob Sharp

Admiral Sharp retired in August 2022 after a 34-year distinguished career in Naval Intelligence. He brings with him an incredible amount of expertise and energy as he takes over the helm of NIP.

"I'm excited for the opportunity to play an active role in the Naval Intelligence Professionals and to be joining the leadership team.

As Jen and I transitioned from active-duty service, we knew we wanted to stay connected to our Navy family, and remaining involved with NIP certainly allows us to do so.

I first joined NIP back in 1996 when LT Bill Garrity and LT Bob Sharp were awarded memberships as recognition for being intelligence instructors of the year at NMITC and FITCPAC, respectively. Being a member of NIP was an important part of my personal and professional development throughout my Naval career, and I’m confident it will continue to be during this next phase of life as well.

I want to personally thank Lynn Wright for her exceptional leadership during her time at the helm. She helped us build a strong leadership team and has NIP heading in a great direction, with great priorities.

We'll continue sailing forward…full steam ahead!"
