Stand Up of Navy Information Dominance Forces Command (NAVIDFOR)

SUFFOLK, Va. – Navy Information Dominance Forces (NAVIDFOR) Command held an establishment ceremony  on Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015 in the Information Dominance Corps’ Heroes Auditorium at 112 Lake View Parkway aboard the DOD Complex in Suffolk, Virginia.

The ceremony commemorated establishment of the U.S. Navy’s newest global readiness-focused Type Command (TYCOM), responsible for manning, training, equipping (MT&E) and identifying requirements for all Navy Information Dominance capabilities.

NAVIDFOR stood up Oct. 1, 2013, to consolidate and align missions, functions, and tasks (MFT) previously managed by separate ID commands (specifically, Navy Cyber Forces Command, Fleet Cyber Command, Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command (NMOC), and the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI)) to improve the generation and sustainment of ID force readiness across the Navy.
