GUEST SPEAKER’S BACKGROUND

 Koprowski assumed command of the Kennedy Maritime Analysis Center in July 2022.

A native of Long Island, New York, Capt. Pete Koprowski began his naval career upon graduating from the United States Naval Academy in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in oceanography as an intelligence officer.

CAPT Koprowski’s operational assignments include Commander Carrier Air Wing Two where he served as the Intelligence Collection Manager for the carrier strike group. Joint Special Operations Command holding several positions within the J5, J2, an Interagency Task Force, and ultimately serving as the Deputy Director for intelligence. In support of Navy Special Warfare CAPT Koprowski has served in various capacities to include the group N2 level. During operational assignments, CAPT Koprowski has been assigned to multiple forward deployed locations, conducting intelligence operations in support of combat operations.

CAPT Koprowski’s shore assignments include exposure to the Indo-Pacific with tours at the Joint Intelligence Center Pacific and Commander Pacific Fleet. Exposure to Type Commander staffs with assignments at Navy Information Forces and Navy Expeditionary Combat Command. Lastly, exposure to reserve forces with an assignment at Commander Navy Reserve Forces (CNRFC). While assigned to CNRFC, CAPT Koprowski was selected for assignment as the Director of the Combined Joint Intelligence Operations Center – Afghanistan serving 14 months in forward locations supporting Commander Resolute Support.  Most recently CAPT Koprowski served as an assistant chief of staff and Director of Intelligence for Commander Navy Expeditionary Combat Command.

Koprowski holds a master’s degree in operations research from the Naval Post Graduate School. His awards include the Navy Intelligence Community’s Layton Award for Leadership, the Navy Intelligence Professional’s award for leadership, Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal (7), Meritorious Service Medal, and various other personal and unit awards and citations. 

Personally, CAPT Koprowski enjoys an amazing family network and is a proud parent of three amazing children Malia (16), Evan (14), and the newest edition Iris (3 months)!
