Captain Richard “Boz” Bosworth, originally from Massachusetts, enlisted in the Navy in 1988 and served as an anti-submarine warfare operator aircrewmen and rescue swimmer on SH-2F and SH-60B helicopters. He was commissioned in 1999 through the Enlisted Commissioning Program and designated an intelligence officer upon graduating from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy.
Significant afloat/operational assignments include collections officer with Carrier Air Wing 1 (CVW-1) aboard USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) from 2000-2002; Director Joint Intelligence Support Element for Special Operations Command CENTCOM from 2005-2006 in Doha, Qatar: Carrier Air Wing 11 (CVW-11) N2 aboard USS Nimitz (CVN-68) from 2008-2010; Deputy ACoS for Intelligence Commander Seventh Fleet from 2016-2018; ACoS for Intelligence for Commander Third Fleet from 2020-2022.
Shore assignments include: Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection analyst at the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) Multiple Threat Alert Center (MTAC), Washington D.C from 2002-2005; Deputy Current Intelligence Branch for the US Pacific Fleet, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii from 2006-2008; J2 International Engagements Branch/Southeast Asia Desk Officer and Northeast Asia Deputy Division Chief for USPACOM Joint Intelligence Operations Center from 2011-2014; Executive Officer for Center for Information Dominance San Diego from 2014-2016: Commanding Officer for Information Warfare Training Command Virginia Beach from 2018-2020; J2 and Commanding Officer for USTRANSCOM JIOC from 2022-2024.
Captain Bosworth graduated U.S. Naval War College Command and Staff in 2010, where his major area of study was China and the South China Sea. He is the recipient of various individual, campaign and unit awards, including the Layton Award for Leadership, the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal, and the Joint Meritorious Service medal. He is married to his wife Kerry and has three children, Derek, Katelyn and Reagan.
Captain Myrick is a native of Stringer, MS. He received his commission through the Naval Reserve Direct Commission Officer Program in 2001 as a Naval Reserve Intelligence Officer. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nuclear Engineering Technology from Thomas Edison State College, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Limestone College, a Master of Science degree in Space Systems Operations from Naval Postgraduate School, and a Master of Science degree in National Resource Strategy from the Dwight D. Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy.
Afloat, Captain Myrick served as Engineering Laboratory Technician in USS CASIMIR PULASKI (SSBN 633) and USS GURNARD (SSN 662) and as leading Engineering Laboratory Technician in USS DRUM (SSN 677). As an officer, He served as Intelligence Officer (N2) for Commander Destroyer Squadron Twenty-Two where he completed a seven-month deployment with THEODORE ROOSEVELT Carrier Strike Group; He served as the Senior Intelligence Officer and Intelligence Department Head in USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN CVN-72 where he completed a ten-month around the world deployment.
Ashore, Captain Myrick served as an instructor at Naval Nuclear Prototype Charleston. As an Officer, he has served: as Targeting Officer at Joint Intelligence Command, U.S. Central Command; as Russian Maritime Section Chief at Joint Analyses Center, U.S. European Command, RAF Molesworth; as Assistant Deputy Director for Intelligence and Deputy Executive Assistant to the Director for Intelligence on the Joint Chiefs of Staff Directorate for Intelligence (J2); as Executive Assistant to the Director National Maritime Intelligence-Integration Office and Commander Office of Naval Intelligence; as Deputy Officer-in-Charge for Chief of Naval Operations – Intelligence Plot; and as Deputy Director for Information Warfare Readiness at Naval Information Forces Command. He served as Executive Officer and Commanding Officer of Naval Ocean Processing Facility Dam Neck, Commanding Officer of Theater Undersea Surveillance Command Atlantic and reported to his current assignment at Joint Interagency Task Force South in September 2024.
Captain Myrick’s personal decorations include the Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal (3), the Joint Service Commendation Medal (2), the Navy Commendation Medal (2), the Navy Achievement Medal (3) and various service and unit awards.
