DC Chapter Holds “Meet and Greet” in Old Town

NIP Members gathered on 1 December at Sonoma Cellars in Old Town (Alexandria, Virginia) for an informal social to “meet and greet” old and new members. Chapter President Dave Mattingly planned the event in an effort to resume in-person socials in the DC area after they were suspended in 2020 due to COVID. Vice Admiral (ret) Jake Jacoby and his wife Celia were there, along with both retired and active duty members. Rick Myllenbeck, who owns Sonoma Cellars, graciously offered space for the event.

Mattingly welcomed everyone and announced that he is planning another event in the new year at the Cold War Museum in Vint Hill, Virginia followed by a social at the Vint Hill Winery or a local brewery.

CAPT (Ret) Bob Allen, ISCM (Ret) Dave Mattingly, CDR (Ret) Bob McIntyre, CAPT (Ret) Mark Greer, VADM (Ret) Jake Jacoby, and Celia Jacoby enjoyed a glass of wine while catch up.
